Measuring Winchester 06/180fs factory, it comes to 3.09",FS bullet length is 1.24" It has no problem getting 2700fps. When I shake the case there is still much room in there, despite its short OAL. Why they loaded it that short I dont know. We can easily load that combo to around 3.4",(loaded to the base of the neck it comes to about 3.35oal).so how much more fire pepper can we put in that box, and what sort of velocities can we expect with that 180Fs loaded to that 3.4" length with an appropriate powder? what V.are you getting with your 200AB loaded to 3.4"? Any other type of 180 or 200gn 3.4"oal results are welcome. Please include barrel length used.

woodjack OAL will depend upon your rifle's dimensions and magazine length. The three 30-06's I load for have an OAL for the 200 Accubond measured to the lands: Sauer - 3.395" Sako - 3.397" Mato - 3.380" The 200 AB is the Sauer's (22" barrel) favorite bullet with 59.5 gr RL22 for 2650 fps. Because it's a long bullet that is slightly compressed. The other 2 guns will shoot that bullet into about 1 1/2". The 180 gr FS measures Mato - 3.230 (only gun I've tried it in) I would try IMR4350, IMR4831 or RL19 for that weight bullet. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

With using a failsafe bullet, on average it will have a shorter OAL, when compared to using other bullets.
