hello gentlemen i am andrew watched this board for awhile thought i would ask a question. I have found some FN mauser actions for 50 bucks stripped of course and wanted to build something in 9.3mmX62 or 64mm. I understand that 62 will fit in a standard action.

parts I am considering are richards microfit stock the grade AAA a lothar walther barrel. And if the rounds will fit a detachable gibbs magazine peep hole sites with 2.5x32(leopold or zeiss unless somebody has a better idea) scope mounted like a scout rifle.

any suggestions comments?

Welcome to the fun.

It sounds like you have thought this out pretty well.

Some may not like the scout rifle scope, but I like them in some applications.

I like your plan. it should look great. Make sure you take photos of the start (components) and the entire process. I know we all like to see the steps as well as the finished product.

By the way, I have purchased 2 stocks and had one of my blanks shaped at Richards. I have nothing but good to say about them. stir

Here we go.....

Have fun!!! cheers

Sounds great !! keep us informed, while I like and own a 9.3x62, the 64 is the cooler of the two and has a bit more stoke Cool

Do a Timney and don't look back. Have a couple of them in my rifles, one FN as well- just a superb trigger.

Yes do a x64 Brenneke! Stripped FN's - good for you.

I'll throw in another vote for the 64 Bren & the Timney trigger.
However the x62 would be a better choice for the scout style. Why? Faster follow up sight aquisition. Because of lower recoil.

kudude, to me a stripped action is just the reciever, of course everybody ahs there own ideas on it. I just bought a new chaz daily reciever for a really good price. Have all the parts to make a complete action, I just dont know what the hell to make on it.

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.
