8x68S Shooters, a few questions please.
How long is the magazine box on your rifle? How wide is it at the back and shoulder?
If you rifle is a mauser, is metal milled off the back of the ejection port as well as the front to make room, or just off the front?

Thanks for your help.

I hope to comission one that feeds and functions smoothly and safely.

I am sorry!

My 8x68S rifle is standing far away in our hunting area...

Alf.

95mm? Is that the inside mag measurement? Seems awfully long for a cartridge whose OAL is 87mm.

3.425" + .125" = 3.550" = 90.2mm

Perhaps the manufacturers use a single sized magazine for more than one cartridge. The 8x68S seems to be just short of midwayb between the 30-06 class length and the 300 H&H class length.

95mm is just shy of 3.75".

Alf, normally I am not one to disagree with you, but in my opinion this is a bit long for the 8x68s.

Having a magazine box of generous length is a nice twist on things.

Usually we all have our hacksaws and welding rigs out trying to add a few mm's.

Thanks again for the measurements ALF.

Every cartridge worth using was invented by 1930.
