Just read 505ED's post on minimum legal calibers in Africa. I afraid my little 9,3X62 won't cut the mustard. Most countries require a minimum of .375 and/or four thousand foot pounds of energy for dangerous game. Dang, I really like that little 9,3.

Not sure but I believe that in countries where the 375 H&H is minimum there is a 9.3x___ exception.

Pago:

I do have bigger bolt rifles, a .416 Rigby, 450 Dakota, and a 500 Jeffery but I sure like that little 9,3.

I'm taking a 9.3x62 to RSA for DG in a month. I expect no problems.

You can judiciously load the 9.3x62 to legal specs to use in Zimbabwe on DG, 58.5 grs of RL 15 will usually get you there with a 286 Nosler and a 300 gr. Swift....Carefully work up some max loads.

As to the other countries, lots of 9.3x62s are used every year, some by kids, and wives and many by the husbands on Buffalo, Lion and even an elephant now and then.. I don't know of anyone that has ever been challanged on this..

I have used it in RSA, Zim, Tanzania and Zambia. Most just use factory ammo and nobody cares. I have never heard of a PH telling anyone they cannot bring their 9.3x62??

Nobody in Zim or Namibia ask me squat about what was in my 9.3x62 last July. Take it, shoot it, enjoy it...dead critters in front of it! Cool
