| I think Nosler's protected point partition in 180 grain weight is the single best bullet for 300 Win mag. It's a peanut butter & jelly thing I guess... |

| I was reading more about the partition and i seems like a great design. fast expansion, plus the base drives deep, and is supposed to work on a wide variety of sizes of game. The 208 gr will be for target, hunting bullets seem to have more 180 gr. I was thinking of trying the 180 or 200 gr accubond |

| I agree with Buckshot, 180 grain Nosler pt Partitions are just about perfect. They group better than anything I've tried in my X-Bolt. I've taken 2 deer and, although a bit of an overkill, they worked perfectly.

| I shoot only two bullets in my .300 Win. Mag. The 200 gr. Speer Hot-Core and the 200 gr. Nosler Partition. My .300's have 26" barrels and with logn discontinued WMR powder I get an honest 2930 FPS at the muzzle. The loads are very accurate too. Both bullet loads have been worked up so that they shoot very close to the same POI. I'll have a Nosler up the spout for shot to about 200 yards and the magzine filled with the Speers. If the shot is more than 200 to 250 yards, I just switch a Speer up the spout and take the shot. Works for me but YMMV. Paul B. |

| I fined the 200 gr. bullets the most accurate.

| If you match the bullet length to the twist of the rifle, you would only need one weight for everything you can do with a 300 Magnum. Most are 1:10" twists and would use a 160gr or 150gr mono. Some are 1:11" like the new .30" calibers from Sako and Tikka. For that you would use a 140gr softpoint mono. |
