A super shadow M70 in 325 WSM, is it a control round feed action or not? My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

It is a controlled round push feed (CRPF). It isn't the controlled round feed (CRF) of the Classic actions, nor is it the old push feed action. It is rather a modified push feed where the ring around the bolt face is opened up on the bottom to allow the bolt to pick up a round like a true CRF, and it has a blade ejector. But it doesn't have the Mauser style extractor. Winchester claims the advantage to this CRPF action is that it allows single-feeding of a cartridge directly into the chamber. Maybe so, but all of my Classics, except one (a 25WSSM) allow single-feeding as well.

IMO...No...it's not a CRF at all. Instead of being the best of both worlds (being a crfpf) IMO they created the worst of both. They IMO lost the benefits of each. Savage did the same thing in their bolts for the RUM cartridges. I'm a real fan of the Winchester (and other) push feeds for non dangerous game and as a matter of fact wouldn't have anything else for a varmint cartridge. This type of bolt on the Shadows is puzzling to me.....I'm not at all impressed. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." It works the same way but doesn't have or need the big extractor like the classic. -------------------- THANOS WAS RIGHT!
