i have 100 round or 139gr .284" and 100 of 150 .308" bullets hornady sst's.. bought them for a contender carbine but my guns don't like them.. i was thinking about loading them in a 7x57 and .308 win. at 2600-2750 fps and try them on deer and hogs.. the only 1's i have seen in use were 139gr's in a 7rem mag and they cratered and turned small deer into jello..

I use the 150 gr. SST's in my 308 with success. All of my shots on deer and pigs have been heart/lung shots though, don't know what happens when they hit a shoulder. I'm shooting the 154 gr. version in my 7x57 but haven't taken any game with it yet.

I shot a mature buck last year at 50 yds with a 140gr SST from a 264 Mag. Quartering toward me, the bullet broke shoulder, continued through lungs and exited just past the last rib. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

I shot a doe at 35-40 yds with my 7mm-08 using 139 SST's at just under 2800 fps. Lung shot, small entrance and small exit. Very happy with it, and my Steyr loves them.
