I shoot the 225gr Barnes Triple shocks now with lots of RL 19 and Fed 215M match primers, norma brass. North Fork makes a 225 and a 240 grain bullet that is very good and very accurate also. Good luck

rojo - Just an idea but if you're looking to go to a lighter bullet how about the 230 grain FailSafe. I don't have a Weatherby but they do wonders in my 338 WM.

I'd suspect the 1 in 12 twist is very marginal for 250gr .338 bullets .

You might try the 210 gr Nosler . That bullet has a great reputation on large game.

Welcome- Have you tried a different powder with that 250gr bullet? If you try the 225gr in a Nos-Part or a Hornady, I had excellent results with H-4831-82.2gr-84.8 max load and Imr-7828--89gr with Fed-215 primers, both top loads at 3000 av.fps 1 in 10" twist. Smaller bullet might be more consistant even with you're powder & twist. You ought to be able to pull things down in under 2 inches.
