I have a couple of sacks of pulled 250 Gr. 9.3 bullets. They have a cannalure and a light olive green tip..I can't find such a bullet in any of my catalogs. I suspect they are Hornady or Noslers, but they are not cataloged, perhaps discontinued or maybe they are Accubond, but I thought all accubonds were white tipped..They are modern bullets and quite nice.

HELP! bewildered

iirc the 9.3mm Nosler Ballistic Tips were indeed olive tipped.

Sounds like a Nosler E-tip, as they have the olive green tips, however Nosler does not have that caliber in their line up.

250gr Nosler Ballistics tips I think. They are discontinued sadly, I've been tasked with collecting any I see for a friend to shoot through his 9.3x74R.

He rates them very highly in the calibre.

Amir,

As always, Thank You very much for your continued efforts on my behalf. I'll make this good in March.

Yes, the description matches the sadly discontinued .366" (9.3) 250 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips.

For European game I've found nothing better as I load them (@2300fps) in the 9.3x62 & 9.3x74R. They just crunch stuff.

I used 2 of my valuable stash launched outa the 9.3x62 today on a Roe Doe & Red Deer Hind during a Drive Hunt in the Black Forest. DRT, both dropped like being struck by the preverbial Thor's Hammer and never twitched; no fuss, no muss & no ripped-up venison - perfect!

Big Grin

Cheers,

Is there any evidence of a pimento in it anywhere?

I still have a small supply for my CZ-550 American 9.3x62. 58 grains of ReL 15 chronographed 10 feet from the muzzle clocked 2540 fps, and was very accurate. I understand the bonded bullet that replaced the Ballistic Tip has the same dimensions and can be loaded with the same load (after carefully working up). 58 grains is a good bit below maximum loads I have seen published. I thought they were probably Balistic tips, but these bullets have a cannalure and I don't recall any Nosler having a cannalure?????????

I was dying to jump on this but to defer to Vapo's standing here decided otherwise ..... we coulda gone down the "shaken but not stirred" path ..... a real Martini has had the Vermouth bottle passed over the top of the glass and at least 3 olives in it ..... ect.

Ray,

Yupper, the 9.3 Nosler BT's do have a cannelure, as do the Accubonds.

IMO (FWIW) it's placed correctly on these bullets. In combo with a Lee Factory Crimp Die for the 9.3x62 & 9.3x74R (Lee sells these in Europe for these & other metric cartridges) they load just fine to the top of the cannelure - plunks 'em.

I've never recovered either a 9.3 BT or AB - they drill through the thickest critters as advertised.

Vapodog,
There is a Pimento under the olive, it cost me a bullet to satisfy your curiosty, but I ate the Pimentos and the olives and now have some wonderful hollow points and all is well once more. The stress was almost more than I could cope with, I just can't think you enough,
