Hmmm I guess the 7x57 a few years ago are in such demand, they brought it back http://www.lipseys.com/itemdet...temno=RUHKM77RSI275R Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

I've been seriously considering getting one of these. I would have preferred for it to have had at least a 20" barrel though.

I have one in 7x57. Son smacked all sorts of PG with it. Really handsome rifles Do it! Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

I had one of those chambered in 308Win and I couldn't get under 5" at 50 yds. I tried different factory ammo and also tried to make a handload for it and that cute little rifle just wouldn't shoot. What aggravated me about this was that I sold a sporterized Ishapor in that caliber to help fund the Ruger because I didn't want to spend the money to have the receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts. The Ishapor would shoot very well even for my old eyes and the iron sights. Dennis Life member NRA

Yeah, most Rigbys that I have seen were stainless steel in a walnut stock, what a wasted effort! DRSS(We Band of Bubba's Div.) N.R.A (Life) T.S.R.A (Life) D.S.C.

LOL what? do you not like the caliber? or mannlicher stocks? or Rugers? or SS actions? or walnut stocks? Or should everything look like it did 100 years ago? Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

Very much so. And a lot easier to take care of.

Duckear, as you well know, it is nothing more than a 7x57 mauser. They chose to appeal to nostalgia and market a gun to appeal to people who appreciate a legendary and classic cartridge designation. This rifle has no connection or likeness to anything that ever came from Rigby, not to mention that it would be safe to say that Rigby never built a stainless version. If they were marketing it as a 7mm mauser, it would be a more appropriate designation for the rifle as made. Just typical crass commercialism from a company that used to have some class under Bill Ruger and I would be willing to bet that Bill would never have done this. DRSS(We Band of Bubba's Div.) yeah, sure Ruger is cashing in on nostalgia. Just like Hornady did with their 275 Rigby headstamped ammo a few years ago. Still like the rifle though. Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

It's called trying to supply goods and services into a fickle market, as in never happy, and stay in business. I for one hope they succeed and I hope someone buys a fair amount of these fine rifles. I guess I missed the stainless also, my full stock 308 was walnut and blue and it was a real beauty but like I said the good looks wouldn't make it shoot. Dennis Life member NRA

I had one in 7x57, 250-3000 and a .308..Loved them all, but within a year all them rocketed to the ceiling in price so I sold them..great investments..Surprisingly enough I really liked the SS and walnut, it was nice and anyone that knows me knows I hate SS and plastic..These guns are my one exception.. The other thing I might mention is all three were very accurate and velocity losss was almost none existent, at least with my handloads, and that surprised me as I compared them to my 22 and 24 inch guns in same calibers. These guns have been coming out on the market by Lipskys and one other outfit over the last few years, in various calibers and confirmation, and they sell faster than pancakes at a Morman Sunday bake off. They have made a killing on some real sho nuff old marketing strategy and its working. I would doubt that their is one left as we speak. I agree also. The Winchester M70's from back in the late 90's/early 00's are really pretty. _____________________________________________________ No safe queens!

Put my vote in there as well! SS and a nice dark walnut is just plain sexy!

Stunning little rifles ! Sadly notorious for appalling accuracy ! Had one in 30-06 and the best it would do was about 2 inches @ 100 and it had wicked recoil ! The No 1 RSI's a little better but not really tack drivers !

I have a 77RSI in .308. After replacing a horrendous trigger it will now shoot sub 2" groups at 100 yards. It's a handy little brush / mountain rifle and I've taken several deer with it. This new variant looks lovely in a solid caliber no matter what is stamped on the barrel. But, I don't see it being worth $1,300 which is where I'd be by the time it was shipped and transferred.

My 7x57 shot 1.5 to 2 inches depending on load, it was a little picky..My 250-3000 and .308 both shot 1/2 to 3/4 with regularity..All but the 7x57 were stainless and wood. The 7 was blue and wood..
