A month or two ago I ran a post about Accurate Innovations stocks out of Rapid City, South Dakota. I had a Winchester Model 70 custom barreled to 270 WSM. I decided to have an Accurate Innovations stock put on. The stock is built around an inletted aluminum block. No part of the action or barrel touches wood. I got the rifle back a few days ago. A major remodeling project on the house kept me from looking at it in detail. I took a look the day before yesterday after the workmen finished and cleared out. Im impressed with the stock. I got a great piece of wood. Checkering is English style, laser cut, fit and finish are great. $355.00. Turn around time, a month, and they installed my Williams bottom metal. I cant wait to break in the new barrel, work up a load, then put it through its paces. If you're looking for a new stock, check it out. http://www.accurateinnovations.com

Interested in seeing more. Do you have pictures? The site did not mention the M70?

I'm not geek enough to be able to take pictures and post them. Take my word, it's a nice piece of wood, nicer than I wanted. I like plain wood on my rifles. As for the Model 70, they can do it. They did my short action with non standard barrel channel and the Williams bottom metal. I've been at the shop twice and have seen the equipment they use. It's all CNC. Once they program for a model, they're equiped for all those models. I saw every type of rifle you can imagine in various states of completion in racks. I looked at a bunch of them. They do good work. And just for the record, I don't have any connection to the company or any of the individuals that run it. I found what I think is a good idea and I'm passing it on. If you have a rifle that shifts point of impact in humidity, this should be the cure.
