Thought I might get some educated responses on this board. I hunt with a Ruger MKII and would like to use a sling (not a carrying strap) for stabilization for selected situations in the field. Which sling do you suggest? Thanks

the leather one made for the 30 cal rifles is the one to use and learn to use correctly.
you will have to practice using it.
if you buy a k-31 swiss rifle they are taught to shoot slung up ,and if you dont use the sling you have to move the sights or they will shoot to the right.

LB,
The sling that I use on all my rifles is the military web sling. I am refering to the M1/M14 sling. I shoot with it all the time from the sitting and prone positions. For me that is the best. They don't look like much but the are real effective for those long range shots.
