Very apples/oranges comparison. The neighborhood sporting goods chain has Colt Rifles in .30-06 for $350. For that money it seemed like a decent deal. A Kimber Montana (which I have) is worlds apart in fit and finish but I paid a bit more than $350 for it. I can't really compare the two. The Kimber is much lighter and much better made but also cost much more. If you're on a budget the Colt might not be a bad way to go, but the Kimber is much closer to a "poor man's NULA" than the Colt is. The Colt I looked at compared most closely to a Savage 110 in fit and appearance.

I have heard that the magnum chamberings in the lite were not up to par, one of the poasters got a good one. The m84 is a good gun, but for the price, I would take the colt. It is a good price, and who knows, in a few years the colt could be worth a few bucks as a short run type of collector gun. Either way, at $350 you can't go wrong. Just my thinking, I don't do all that well at spectulitive investments. I like shure things, but I think the colt will hold it's own.
