Eland SlayerAmmo Poll: 300 Win Mag - GMX vs. TTSX
I'm looking at the differences between these for .300 Win Mag, and I figured they've both been out long enough to have been thoroughly tested by some of you.

(By the way....I am referring to loaded ammunition from the manufacturer)Which do you prefer, and why?Hornady GMX (165 gr.)Barnes Tipped TSX (165 gr.)

k-22hornetI picked the Barnes, in large part because I have used them since 1992, and have not used the GMX.
I would expect the GMX to work like a Barnes though.

rnoviNeither. I prefer a 180 gr in my 300 H&H.
Given the choice of those two makers I'll pick the Barnes.
Given a third I like the e-tip.
Truth be told, I seriously doubt any critter would sense much of a difference...

kjjm4I say try both, and pick the one that shoots best in your rifle. I doubt that you'll be able to tell the difference in terminal performance.

MileHighShooterGenerally, I like what I have used from Hornady. Accurate, effective, and usually priced closer to most big companies bargain ammo. I do have one rifle that doesn't shoot them well, however, but we all know rifles are different . Another option I suggest, would be the E-tip from Nosler. Their factory ammo has been very accurate, and again cheaper then most premium stuff from the big 3, and from boutique makers like double tap.
