Was wondering if anyone has tried any of the the Cutting Edge Bullet .30 cal solids? Either the 180gr in 308 Win or the 180gr or 210gr in 30.06?

No solids, but the 150 grain Raptors have been quite accurate in a 30-06 and a 300 Weatherby.

I'm shooting the 100gr FB Raptors in my 300 Blackout and 308. Deadly on deer out of either rifle.

Been in contact with Michael 458, the guy who started the original "Bullet Testing" thread up in "Big Bores". He's not specifically "tested" the solids. Only interested in info on the solids in my OP for a specific use on a couple of thick skinned African animals, one of which is giraffe. Most of the clients I've been taking to Namibia only take or can handle 308 or 30.06 level recoil. Sometimes, a couple of species aren't on their original "wish list" but, once they get there and see some game up close they want to add them - giraffe being one of them. Unless you've actually seen how thick the hide/skin on a giraffe is, I don't believe a Raptor in those calibers/weights will be very effective in getting through the on-side hide, where I think the petals will shear off and the reduced weight/energy of the core getting through the ribs and lungs and still driving deep enough to make it to the heart.

I shot my hippo with a 475gr Raptor at 75yds with a 500NE and they penetrated the heart and lungs just fine.
