got more than I "need" and we are trying to pay for a new house so here is what I got:

Ruger 77 .270-Dad's old gun
ruger 77 R-20 inch barrel version of the full size model-.270

Ruger #1A .257 roberts
Ruger 77R-same as the little .270 listed above, only in 257 roberts

ruger #3 .223

Ruger #1B 25-06-little brothers 1st deer came with this one, so it will stay

Marlin 30-30-scoped
Marlin 35 rem-no scope

Tikka stainless/synthetic 25-06

two springfield 03 custom guns: one 30-06 soon to be in hand and one 26 inch bull barrel 25-06 that will shoot darn near one hole groups at 200 yards...

win 9422 and marlin 1894 44mag for "fun"

The list above is what I was considering keeping...listed below is what I intend to sell...

rem 788 358 win-semi custom with a 20 inch bull barrel-shoots itty bitty groups and I hate to see it go, but I find myself choosing the 35 rem or the short .270 over this one when hunting...and the .270 and the 30-06 should cover just about anything I will ever hunt anyway.

pre 64 win 94 32 spl-near mint but no rear site-has a lyman peep-nice trigger and I shoot it well, but the 35 rem and the 30-30 tend to get the nod in the field.

ruger 77 RSI .243-accurate as all get out but can't warm up to the full length stock or putting a scope on top of this gun.

Savage 99 .300 savage-good condition-just traded for this one but have not shot it to date...but I think the 35 rem would be in the field more so than this one-the marlin just fits me better...

Ruger #1B 257 roberts-very nice gun that is no longer made-great trigger-great wood, but with what I have listed above in the keeper list, I just can't find a place for this one...

I also plan to pick up a ruger #1 6.5x55 if they ever come out with this combo, just for kicks!

so, what say you????

I have a little girl that needs that 77 RSI in 243, to match the one her bigger sister got last year. She took a very nice 28" muley buck with one shot, and now the younger one believes they are magic. She also has my 77/22H and refuses to return it...but will trade for a good deer rifle.
Help me!!

Dave--

Sounds like you have some keepers. I suspect if I sold off some from that bunch, especially to pay bills today, I'd definitely regret it tomorrow. If you're trading guns you don't use for better guns you do it might be different....

I've given guns away but never sold any, so I am biased....and my herd is slowly growing. If times get tight enough anything can happen, but I would expect my wife's jewelry to be on the auction block in the same round if it is that important....

Good luck--

Dan
