Contact http://www.hawkbullets.com.
I have used them in my 9,3x74R and in my 450/400 1/4". GREAT killers.
If you are unsure which jacket thickness to choose give them a call.

As you may (or may not) know, Hornady makes a .338 diameter 200 gr FP specifically for the 33 Win. They say (in my older Hornady Manual) that the targeted performance envelope is 1,800 - 2,200 fps. I have used these in my .338 Win at 2,200 fps (reduced vel) for deer. They worked quite well.

HAWk, is the only one I know of that offers the liter weight ones, they work well on deer

HORNADAY has dropped their 200 grain FP from production..

Have pester the hell out of BARNES, and a couple of others for a Flat Point but so far no luck

I used that bullet at 3000 fps in a .338 win mag on rabbits and it sprayed rabbit vapor all across the landscape.

I'ld go w/ the Hornady 200gr. The Hawk can be very soft & tend to over expand unless you get the really heavy jackets.

Looked into that 200gr Hornady, and yes it is discotinued. Frowner Was hoping to make 155gr. hollow points for my 338lapua and intraduce a coyote or two to some. Well bake to the drawing board. I'm hoping for a nice varmint 150 to 180grainer. A 150 tnt would be nice! Back to the 33 winnie. I might go with a hawk. All help welcome! Keep it comming.

If you are single shoot loading the magazine of the 33 Winchester, then the 200 grain Hornady SP or the Nosler Ballistic Tips will perform excellent in that velocity range....

I down load my 338.06 at times to get a little Nostalgic about the 33 Winchester...

An 1886 Winchester is on my short list of rifles I'd like to have....of course chambered in 33 Winchester .. and also one in 40/65....

Some day, when I am tired of looking for an affordable one that has not been bored out to 45/70... I may just rechamber a Marlin 1895 into 33 Winchester....

About 1991 I was in a gunstore in Spokane WA.
He had a few "trash cans" full of old Winchester lever rifles. Several in 40/65.
I cannot remember the name of the store but it had been around for a long while. He was outside of the main part of town. I went back in 1993 and he still had all the same stuff.
Never seen so many lever rifles.

Seafire-

Just in case it is of any use to you, I have a .33 winchester reamer you can borrow.....

(I'm in the process of building a siamese Mauser for that round.)
