Holee smokes! Found one NIB! The 750 Woodsmaster was first produced in 2006. Discontinued in 2015.

For heavy game 220gr Core-Lokt should be about ideal. Decide on scope/mount. Range report to follow.

I have the identical rifle. Warne steel bases with medium Burris Signature Zee rings work for me. Do you reload?

Nice find!

Are these rare?

A local store has one new in box for $599 in .35 Whelen. I'd seen the 740/742 before but I have never seen the 750 until last weekend. My friend had 2 of the 742's and they had functioning issues.

Used ones are out there but wanted a new one. Not many new ones because 750's were discontinued in 2015.

Leupold 1 piece base and Leupold rings on my 7400 35 Whelen (functions just fine). Base is windage-adjustable which is handy in case of misalignment issues. However the base and rings are steel so adds to scoped rifle weight.

Going with Leupold Rifleman aluminum rings, Weaver 1 piece aluminum base (keep the weight down), and Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4x20mm.

I handload target rounds. But for hunting with my 30-06's I use 220gr factory loads.

I hope they hold up better then the 742 series do.

Remington semi autos IMHO were never that robust.

My 7400, with improvements supersedes the 742, continues to function reliably. 750 with further improvements supersedes 7400.

Installed Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4x20mm in Leupold Rifleman low rings on Weaver 1 piece base. Aluminum rings and base to keep weight down.

Scoped rifle weighs 7.8 lbs. Bore-sighted. Fantastic! No receiver/barrel misalignment issues.

Sako Hammerhead bonded core 220gr ammo to compare with Remington Core-Lokt 220gr ammo (claimed 2362 vs 2410 fps mv). Liking the factory load approach because autoloaders can be finicky to handload.

With factory ammo all R&D likely done to function reliably in all action types including autoloaders. Saves time. No muss. No fuss. No dee-kars'n A-round! And doesn't void the 2 year new rifle warranty.

Range report to follow.

Good shooting! A lot more accurate than I was thinking. Maybe I need to do a pit stop tomorrow and grab that 35 Whelen Big Grin

Thanks! Definitely pleased with how my new 30-06 750 groups!

My old 35 Whelen 7400 groups not too bad with 250gr Swift A-Frame handloads. Earlier this month -
