For some time I have been telling you about the chance that Graf's might team with Hornady to make components and ammo for our dearly beloved 9.3x62 Mauser. I emailed jeff@grafs.com about it a couple of days ago. Here is his reply: John, We are hoping to have these cases in hand and ready to ship by March or April. Go to www.grafs.com, select the vendor "Graf brass....". The part number is GRU93X62. This brass will have the "Graf " headstamp and the quality should be very, very good. Can't say right now if/when we'll have ammo. You can go ahead and backorder the brass if you like and we'll ship asap upon receipt. Thanks, Jeff Mis amigos, a major manufacturer has listened to us and responded. Get it while it's hot. Price looks to be $32.00 per hundred. If they see that we mean business (literally) we might get Hornady to make us some bullets and loaded ammo. Then maybe we can get to the 416 Rigby stuff... Have a good one, Okie John.

Thanks for the notice John. I just placed an order. Nice price about half the cost of Norma or Lapua. Jim

For heavens, it is not Hornady who are making this brass ! Most of their brass is imported, and custom headstamped. Carcano

quote:Just what the the fuck do YOU know about what Hornady does or doesn't do?????? Did it occur to you that we Americans perhaps know more than you about what an American bullet and cartridge maker is doing? Even if you were right, we DON'T CARE. Here's easy to find, affordable brass, in a caliber that we Americans were forced to pay through the nose for Euro products. This is an American business, serving American customers, and frankly where they get their brass is none of your damn business. I'm starting to get a little tired of your know-it-all attitude. Why don't you start by posting a copy of a letter from Hornday explaining that they don't make Graf's 9.3X62 brass? Or any other of their cases? Otherwise, shut the fuck up and go away. Stupid kraut. Uhh... and would you mind going back to your video game now, sonny ? Thanks for having amused us, it was a nice interlude. Carcano [ 01-11-2003, 22:00: Message edited by: carcano91 ]

Well, regardless of where it's actually made, if it's good quality and decent price, it's about time. I can't seem to make the link work though. - Dan

Dan: one comma too much at the end, that's why the hyperlink did not work. As to the brass, it is not US-made, but probably from Prvi Partizan (Serbia) like most of the "Graf's" brass, and therefore of good and reliable quality, excellently suited for reloading. PMP would also be possible. Regards, Carcano

Well, whoever makes it... The 7.65x53 that I got was good stuff.

I Emailed Hornady about making a 9.3 bullet and they said probably 2004.

I mention Hornady because I think they make ammo and components that Grafs sells for older metric military rifle cartridges. (Both websites list these items.) On the other hand, I have neither heard nor seen anything official one way or the other, so I could be wrong. In any case, we need to leave the profanity and name-calling to rap musicians, criminals and badly-raised adolescents. Okie John

quote:Yes, you are; that's why I informed you. Indeed, a small fraction of the Hornady-stamped cases are made by themselves, e.g. the .405 Winchester. Many are not, and specifically not the older metric military cartridges. Regards, Carcano

I for one enjoy the opinions and input of ALL the members of this board. REGARDLESS OF WHERE THEY COME FROM. nay, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF WHERE THEY COME FROM> So, as DOROTHY said to TOTO: THIS IS AN INTERNATIONAL BOARD AND IT AINT KANSAS! I try not to be intolerant, but personal attacks against another for their country of origin is against my personal ethos. I like good brass, and since most all of the worlds copper has always come from Arizona (and Chile), I dont care where the brass comes from, part of it came from here.. Good work on somebodys part to recognize a market and respond to it.

Oh, by the way, Sir: you have lost your hat ! *takes it up, sweeps off the dust and the speckles of manure, and hands it back* You really should wear this hat, if I may say so Sir; your sunstroke already seems bad enough.
