I'm not real sure what gunners mean when they speak of accuracy from a hunting rifle. I have 2 each 7X57 rifles that when I take them out and fire the first shot they hit in the same place (on the money)where they hit the last time I fired it cold. If a second shot is called for it doesn't miss the mark by much.

3 to 5 shot small groups in a hunting rifle isn't the definition of accuracy; it's gun fun on paper.

Knowing where it will hit when you fire it the first time is the only thing that matters and I call that( man, ammunition and rifle) accuracy The CZs have that and more and the 7x57 is all one needs in the lower 48. You've heard some dispariging words about throating and accuracy. O well;if I'm shooting 139s, 150s, 154s, 160s,or 175s be they round nose or spire point. They hit where I last fired each, on the nose.
Maybe I can get a 3/4" group with some 139gr. psp bullets and only a 1 1/4" group from a 175 RN. If I know where the first shot for each is going to hit and put it there THAT'S WHAT MATTERS.

Stay focused on what really matters and that is over all performance at the right time. The virtue of any tool is that it does the intended job as it should when you put it to use.The CZs are such tools. If you buy it and don't like it ;return it, sell it or shine it on till I can help you dispose of it. roger

I own a CZ 550 American in 7x57mm and a CZ 527 Lux in .223 Remington. The CZ 550 American is by far, the most accurate rifle that I own. The rifle has a euro twist barrel of 1x8.66. It is a track-driver with 160 grain and above bullets, but be advised that the lands are way, way, way out there. I cannot afford a custom rifle, so I did some customizing on my own. I did not HAVE to do any of this, I just wanted to do it. I refinished the stock and found the Turkish Walnut is beautiful. I glass-bedded the action area, which I do on all my rifles anyway. I get the trigger breaking at 3# even and left the set trigger operation where it was at when I got it. I had the bolt handle polished and had the bolt body jewelled in the small herringbone pattern. I bought some Talley Rings and a Leupold VariX-1 in 4x12. Using Hornady 162 gr SSTs and H414 powder in Remington cases, this puppy will put three from a sandbag rest into less than half minute of angle at 100 yards. I liked my rig so much that when I was telling my little brother about it, then shot it in front of him once, he had to have one. Rather than the CZ 550 American, he got a CZ 550 Full Stock in 7x57mm and when a friend of his saw that rifle, he too, bought a CZ 550 Full Stock in 7x57mm. All of these rifles are exceptionally accurate with proper handloads and for the life of me, I cannot think this is a fluke, that CZ actually produces some fine products. I use my CZ 550 for elk, wild pig, deer, antelope and even popped the head off of a turkey in Texas one year at 175 yards. The caliber is exceptional and so is the rifle. Hope this helps.
