Does anyone know anything about these guns? I see them for sale occasionally but I can't find out anything about them. The ones I've seen are .270 or 30-06. with a set of 20 ga. barrels as well. It doesn't look like they are being made anymore. The closest thing in current productions appears to be the o/u that is marketed only in europe in metric calibers.

All information is appreciated.

The Continental was marketed for a very short time in the early 1980's. It was available for a long time afterward through dealer or distributors. The retail at that times was $6150. USD. The actual dealer was about 3250 USD in 1983 when I acquired mine in .30-06. The factory rifles were regulated with 150 grain bullets in the '06, and I believe but do not know the .270 would have been 130's. There was also a higher grade which was the Centenial version which was origfinaly part of a package with several other guns and knives. the browning catalogs of that vintage are more accurate then my memory at this time. I wouldn't part with mine if asked, and also there was a rumor that rifles with a serial number higher than 50 were not properly regulated due to a strike at the factory at that time. The Express rifle was simply the field version without the 20 GA tubes. Sometimes the wood is plain, and sometimes not. Values are quite variable. The lowest I had seen (12 years ago0 would have been around 2,000 USD for the express. I woyuld pay 3,000 or more today for a new in the box one now. There was a fitted case with these, and a wooden (Walnut) display case with the Centenial version. Quite nice and I have a friend who has one of those... I must find a way to liberate that one. Hope it helps.

I see these sets every once in a while on one of the auction sites or down at Jaqua's. The one I actually handled was VERY nice in terms of fit, finish and balance. I can't speak to how the gun shoots with the rifle barrels but a Citori is a great gun. I had one for 10-12 years and killed countless quail, woodcock, phez and ducks.
