Ruger 9.3X74
Ruger 9.3X74
Just noticed that Ruger is showing the 9.3 as new on their web site. Best news of all, it will be in the #1S with a 22" barrel. Sweet!!!

D HumbargerIt would be REALLY nice if Ruger would also offer this caliber using their double barrel shtgun actions for a double rifle.

Not until they make something alot smaller than a 12Ga frame size. With TWO triggers.

johnnyrebSince single shot rifles are shorter than bolt action magazine rifles with the same length barrel, I would have thought that Ruger would put a 26" barrel on the Number One in 9.3 flanged...

I too think that a 22 inch barrel for a 9.3x74 is too short. 650 cm, ie 25.5 inches would be just about spot on.

Norman ConquestI wish the Ruger people would read this too. They are a corporation after all that is in business to make a profit.I have wondered before in all seriousness, how much definate interest would it take for them to truly consider this. It's been bantered around a bit on the double gun forum, but of course we're just talking.I do know that back in the 80's when S+W put out the Wagon Train Comm.in 44-40,I called + asked them, that now that they were tooled up for that cal. would they be selling std. rev. in that cal.?Their response at that time was no,but if anyone was willing to place an order for bulk, they would. I don't recall the amount now, either 3 or 400.I know we're talking different companys + price range, but would'nt you think they would sell 3 or 400 dbls.?I'd buy one.I've already bought the European varieties,so I'd have no problem at all spending less AND buying an American product.I know a lot of others feel the same way.I really do hope someone at Ruger is reading this.C'mon guys, this is a money maker,+ really not a gamble at all.
Never mistake motion for action.

Josh SowerbyJust found this site and started looking it over. Like what I've see so far.
I agree with others, Ruger should have at least had a 24" barrel fitted instead of 22".
I just rec'd my 28" Encore barrel in this caliber and just got the scope and need to mount it this weekend...hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get that done.
I have dies, brass, bullets and all other components needed for this project and can't wait to get it to the range.
Thanks for letting me join and I hope to post and read a bunch of stuff in the future.

jeffeossoWould be a nice #1.
Keith, Doug,
the Sxs ruger is a round action, in it's current trim, *I* wouldn't build a double rifle on it, as the frame is far too light. Even though the round action is scottish, i wouldn't do it, and that says tons!
