For the vast majority of my shooting needs, the cup n core is more than adequate. For the most part I shoot fairly heavy for caliber bullets in non-magnums, deer size and smaller. IMO there just really is no need for premiums in that particular situation. However, there is a time and place for premiums. I do occasionally use them for special applications, just not that often. The premiums I do use are Partitions, Interbonds, and Barnes. I do like the Interlock SST/Interbond combo because I can load my rounds the same and they shoot the same, but if I need a tougher bullet it is a simple swap in.

I shoot Interbonds now, but that is because I bought 5 boxes a Cabela's that were marked at interlock prices. I have killed deer with NP, Interlock, Interbonds, and Remmy core lokt and every one worked without failure. If I ever get my elk draw I will use some of my fail safe's.

AC ; What are you sending me ? , I'll shoot them !. Not picky . No offense but the poll , well it doesn't fit with me in particular !. I shoot A LOT compared to others and maybe not enough as a select few . 6-10K rounds per year . Rifle & Pistol , load development I use the least expensive Jacketed projectiles I can acquire. That is until I'm near the sweet spot , then I'll change to premium accuracy bullets and " Pray " things remain relatively the same . For hunting ? depends on what I'm shooting . Little varmints could care less if it's a polymer tipped or lead slug , dead is dead provided you hit them !. As for premium animals Deer and up .Generally Nosler partition or ballistic tip and now Barnes triple shocks . Dangerous game that bites back , Solids from various makers depending on caliber and weight I prefer . Now with all that said !. I shoot more Bulk Win ,Rem , ALL TYPES OF Sierra's and Hornady's Berger's probably in that order . Hell I've even got core locs and Speer along with combined technology . Soft flesh animals such as Deer Antelope expanding anybody's brand . Elk ,I Prefer Nosler but have also used Game Kings this year Barnes ( I'll post up later on how they worked for me ) Would love to shoot a Moose but dam if that isn't getting down right EXPENSIVE now days . So AC ; I repeat what's you gonna send too me to shoot ?.

Well, Doc, I forgot and accidentally shot all the 30 m/m wooden bullets I was gonna mail to you for your big bore. And I've broken my pen knife, so will probably be several years (or more) before I have any more ready to fire... Dang, ain't life a _itch*? *Pick a first letter, "B", "d', "w", whatever. I use premium bullets on any actual game animal. Why? it's that little extra bit just to be sure... And in the greater scheme of things the only thing I spend less on than I do my hunting bullets (I only shoot handloaded ammunition) is bottled water. Hell I typically spend twice as much money on jerkey How many of those bullets are you actually going to use on a hunt? One? Two? Frankly I can count the number of times I've taken more than one shot on the fingers of one hand ahd have fingers left over, including one finger to salute the people who claim "premium bullets are too expensive" You spend $800 plus on a factory rifle, put a $400 scope on top of it and then some spoiled 50year old brat has the nerve to claim that a $35-40 box of Barnes or Nosler bullets is "excessive" AD If I provoke you into thinking then I've done my good deed for the day! Those who manage to provoke themselves into other activities have only themselves to blame. *We Band of 45-70er's* 35 year Life Member of the NRA NRA Life Member since 1984
