I don't have personal experience but there are several on this board that do. From what they say I'm going to pickup one soon. Seems they shoot and function well. Also Steven's (savage) is a good buy. Look at both and pick the one you like. Cool

Straight shootin to ya

FWIW--I have a $289 savage stevens in 300 win mag. It shoots as good as my 300 wby ultralight. ($1150 gun!). Its also as light to carry as my "ultralight". The savage weighs just under 7# on my postal scale (less scopes, rings).
If I ever get it run over by a truck, stolen, dropped off a cliff......I ain't out much. Because it's such an "underdog" price wise and it performs so well.....its become one of my favorite guns to grab out of the gun safe!!
Very much fun.....bang....for the $$$$$$$$$.

I dont own one but did handle one at a local store. Action was one of the roughest I have seen on any gun.

Also, a co workers brother bought one in 30-06. First day deer season, leaned forward int he stand and dropped the gun. Plastic stock slit into pieces.

I Have seen the low end savages, and they seem to be much smoother.
