Brno ZKK 600
I saw a Brno ZKK 600 in 7x64 the other day, and was wondering if any of you have any advice regarding things to check before buy one of these. It costs about US$500.

It has a flip up peep sight in the rear square bridge, a folding regular rear sight, and a barrel band. As far as they knew, all this was original.

Any thoughts?

Just one. Buy it.

The peep and such were from guns in the 70's. Good guns overall.

The integral peep sight versions from the late 60s, 70s are desireable. Some think the fit and finish of these earlier versions are superior. 7x64 is a great caliber. They came with 2 triggers, a set trigger and a conventional, both are hard to adjust and cannot be replaced with aftermarket triggers. Some people don't like the "backwards" safety. I like them, I'd buy it.

The older Brno´s are very nice guns, I have one (not the same model as yours but with the same safety) in 8x60 and it is a very light and handy rifle. I´d buy it in a wink for 500$ -you can´t really go wrong if it´s in good overall shape.

Alas, I have found out it is not as original as I first thought. It was originally a 30-06, and then rebarreled to 7x64 with a LW barrel.

Hey Erik

why would you let the fact that the

rifle has been rebarreled bother you? Unless

you specifically wanted an '06, get hold of

this one. My own 602 action has seen major

modifications to improve the completed rifle.

The 600 series rifles are great firearms but I

wouldn't worry about any collector value being

an issue at all. The pop up peep era actions

were especially good.If I had half a chance,

you wouldn't have to worry about buying it or

not!! thumb

If you want to press the price down just look critical and say something about how modifications lower the value of a gun -then offer 300!

Practise looking critical in the mirror Big Grin

Or just buy it for 500...

zkk 600? with peep? $500 for the action alone, 400 would be better.. the safety is backwards. back for fire.

Good idea! I had a Brno ZG47 that someone rebarreled in 280 AI. Got it cheap cause it was rebarreled. But that rifle would shoot under MOA about 5% faster than a 280. Wish I had it back.
