Anyone have one? What does it shoot like? I have read that this rifle lets you load long bullets (ie 225 Accubonds) without short magazine problems. What say you?

I'm a big 350RM fan, at the moment I have two. The Remington built off the short action may be the only one w/ short mag box issues, but even that can be loaded up w/ 250gr Nosler Partitions. I believe the current Ruger may be the best out of box option for longer bullets, especially w/ its 1-12 twist. At some point I may experiment w/ a longer bullet such as a Barnes, but only for its terminal performance on big game and not to flaten trajectory or increase range. 225gr Accubonds and a 350RM just seem like an odd combination, but that's me. I'd say one of the heavier Partitions or maybe Northforks for something that bites back and maybe one of the lighter Barnes if you were using the 350RM in a light mountain rifle for sheep and such. The Speers and Rem-250CLs (if you can get them) work pretty well on most anything w/in their range. GVA

You could say I'm happy, don't think I've ever had a factory gun that printed it's first handload into a group like this, 57 gr Varget 225 sierra Fed 210 And I've settled on 59 gr varget over the 225 sierra. The chamber seams a bit sloppy, and hence brass fireformed and fl sized in the redding dies seem to work better than virgin brass. I'll be working up loads with Barnes 225 TSX when I get a chance. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.

POP, I responded in more detail on the other forum. But again ... with minor tweaking (which all rifles nowdays seem to need), it'll become a favourite real fast. Fit a set of sights, some trigger lightening ... absolutely magnificent! Cheers... Con

I have one of the stainless ones. Great rifle. Mine is also very fond of the 225 grain sierras. I am useing 57.2 grains of IMR 4320. I am getting as good as to slightly better results than Paul H. It depends what kind of day I am having. As far as oal goes I an at 2.895. The mag can take as long as 2.900 on my rifle I could go 2.920 to touch the rifling. So I am very happy with this rifle. I will try other bullets eventually. But for now this is my dump them on their ass quick deer rifle. Needless to say it does just that.
