Can someone please tell me how high I should be at 100 yards to have a zero of 250 with a 300 WSM, shooting 165 nosler PT at 3100 fps?

thanks

from Nosler Reloading Guide 5th Edition

165 grain Nosler Partition
B.C. = .410
@ a muzzel velocity = 3100fps

gives 200 & 300 yard zeros:

200 yard zero:
+1.4" @ 100 yards
0 @ 200 yards
-6.3" @ 300 yards
-18.5 @ 400 yards
-37.7" @ 500 yards

300 yard zero:
+3.5" @ 100 yards
+4.2" @ 200 yards
0 @ 300 yards
-10.1" @ 400 yards
-27.2" @ 500 yards

I'm guessing +2.5" @ 100 yards should give you about a 250 yard zero for the 165gr NP @ MV of 3100fps

Maxx, try 2.5"... BUT, the only REAL way to know is shoot it at that range.

I realize some don't have easy access to a range beyond 100 yds and they should be cut a little slack, but it's amazing to me of those who do how 99% of them never even sight in, much less practice beyond 100 yds.

It's easy. Place target at desired zero range. Shoot. Go home when they look like this:

It's so much more accurate than guessing from a 100 yd group.

Maxx, I have the Federal ballistics program and the cartridge you describe would be 2.3" high at 100 yards with a 250 yard zero.
