Most Blaser brake top actions like single shot, s&s as well as o&u double rifle and the nice drillings are available in this classy caliber.

Have a look at http://www.blaser.de/english/index.html

This is one of those cartridges I dream of. I keep some Norma cartridges on hand just to fondle them. I think it was Dieter Sturm who wrote an article in Rifle or Handloader years ago about building one of these on a Ruger No. 1.
My dream battery would probably be something like a .256 or .303 bolt gun for the light, a 9.3X74R single for the medium and a .450 No. 2 double as the heavy. Again, just dreaming.

No, its a little less. The 9.3 x 64 will take you up a notch from from the 62 and it works in most models of bolt guns. A much easier choice if want more horsepower than the 9.3 x 62.

Hi boomer453,
Here are a few that are listed, Francotte, Krieghoff, Pedersoli, and Tikka. If you can live with a used gun keep your eye on AuctionArms - Gunbroker- and Guns America. One or the other has a 9.3X74R listed every day. I picked up my Eduard Kettner combo in 12 X 9.3X74R on Auctionarms from jackthedog and could not ask for a better firearm, or a better dealer. Keep us posted on your search. Take care and God bless.

The 9.3x74 R is a rimmed cartridge, slightly less powerful than the 9.3x62 mm. But the diferences are very minimal.

As far as I know you can only find single shot or express rifles for this tipe of cartridge.

You can look at the rifles from various manufacturers at : Express rifles

Can anyone tell me what factory rifles are available in 9.3x74? I know CZ has the 9.3x62 but i have an itch for the 74. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The other way to go is rebarrel a Ruger #1. It makes a very classy 9.3.

The 9.3x62 is, IMO, roughly equal to the .375 at normal African ranges. The .375's greater velocity gives it considerably more reach but at greater recoil. Now neither of them has the nasty, high-speed kick that you will find in light .338's for example. I owned and just recently sold a 7.5 lb 9.3x62. I didn't sell it because I found it unpleasant to shoot. On the contrary, though the recoil was brisk, I felt that the little Husky was a veritable pocket rocket and it felt good to me, but a friend needed a good elk rifle so I let him have this one. If you put a good pad, like a Decelerator or a KickEze and a 1.2x4 or 2x7 scope on a 7.3# CZ, you will find that the 9.3 is both comfortable and viciously deadly. I should imagine that the same would hold true in a falling-block 9.3x74.
