This rifle intrigues me. I have been looking for one like it in 8x68S when I came across this one in 9.3x64. It brings back memories of perusing the Steyr-Daimler catalog in the early 70s and dreaming of hunting the world with them https://www.gunbroker.com/item/893501923

Don't care much for the rifle myself, but do like the cartridge a lot! Aut vincere aut mori

An absolutly awesome caliber, the full equal of the 375 H&H and a much better designed case..Very overlooked in the USA..I built a couple of them over the years, hunted Africa and shot PG & buffalo with both of them..Its a shame that its not more popular in the USA, its just got so much going for it..I also am a fan of the 9.3x62, but the 64 has a good deal more to offer especially if one handloads. Probably easier to find 9.3 components these days in the USA, all the common stuff sells faster than it can be produced, its a strange world out yonder! Had this calibre for 35 years. Wasn't any reloading data in Oz back then so I wrote away to Mulwex (now ADI / Tharles) who make the AR range of powders (hodgdon powders extreme rifle series), best to use AR2209/H4350 & standard primers with 286gn projectiles (woodleigh) these I can get up to just over 2630fps with 74gn which is very compressed & using RWS brass. Please start 10% low & work up from there. If you want a 'soft' load use 270gn Speers & 55gn AR2208/Varget for about 2180fps - bores thru pigs & rusa deer!

It's mighty close to the 358 Norma mag, which also is a great round that never caught on in this country. But with the availability of the .375 Ruger it is hard to get too excited about either today. Unless you are an unrepentant rifle loonie . Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com

With .375 and .416 Rugers on the market it is hard to get excited about other .375 and 416 calibers. Not that I would turn others down at the right price. But if buying new I go Ruger.

I like my Ruger 77 in 375 Ruger caliber better than any DG rifle Ive owned so far..It was a special run of Rugers by Ruger in 2008 for one year only, weights 7 lbs and looks like pre 64 Ruger African model with m-70 type saftey, irons sights great trigger, I bought it new in the box this year in Helper Ut. the grease had hardened, they also had a 220 swift new in the box from days past with hard grease, so I bought both of them..good stuff..
