I am hunting little deer in heavy timber in my area, so I am looking for .35 Remington equivalent Loads for my .35 Whelen. I am thinking a 180- or 200-grain bullet at around 2,000 fps. I have some loads with Blue Dot and the Remington 180 grain .357 Hollow points. I also killed a deer with that bullet and a maximum charge of WC846 (like BL-C2.) It was a 100 yard shot through the lungs, exited, deer dropped. Jason

This data is for the .350 Rem Mag - you may want to check other Speer Manual's for Whelen data. 180 gr. Speer Flat Nose 760 Powder: 61.0 Gr. 2206 fps. RE7: 47.0 gr. 2329 fps. 748: 58 gr. 2461 fps. (PS: The Whelen and .350 RMag are close enough - IMO that for light loads the data would represent a reasonable starting point for light load dev.) From the Hornady 3rd edition: 200gr. Horn RN: H4198: 40.0gr. IMR 3031: 45.9gr. H4895: 48.8gr IMR 4064 49.3 gr. 2300fps Good Luck! Regards, Robert ****************************** H4350! It stays crunchy in milk longer!

I duplicated a mild 358 Winchester load for my hunting. 200 grain Hornady Spire point at 2500 fps. I used a starting load of AA2520, very acccurate and moderate recoil. Leftists are intellectually vacant, but there is no greater pleasure than tormenting the irrational.

Another vote for 54 grains of 3031 and 200 grain Hornady's. Punches a single whole at one hundred when I'm having good day in my Ruger. Bfly Work hard and be nice, you never have enough time or friends.

I’ve loaded the 35 Whelen using the 200 Grain Hornady #3510 with light loads of reloader 15 but it’s still a Whelen though it’s much better on the shoulder then the Round Nose #3525 after many rounds. "Try the 200 grain round nose in timber" Deer: I’m so confident in the power of the 35Whelen that I would shoot thought his ass to hit his heart if that was the only shot I could get….Let alone worry about a little timber.
