Can the locking lever on the QR base be removed and replaced on the other side and still cam the ring down?

I will move the pin to the other side if the cam will work over there.

If you turn the bases around and the rings that ought to work, shouldn't it. You could not use one piece bases. Kudude

In my minds eye it should work, I have one sitting right here. If you have one, an easy try before you get too involved would be to pull the retaining pin, switch the lever to the other side (as the hole goes all the way through) and see if it works. If all is well drill the other side for the pin and replace it.
