Vapo,

Thanks for the heads up on the quality. I got to fondle my first production model at a local gunshop over the weekend (same as yours), and I came away with the same impression. It was really refreshing to see a newly rejuvinated Winchester M70. Feels and fits just like the old ones!

I'm waiting for the rebirth of Northfork bullets to get some 130s for this new Winchester but tried some 180 A-Frames in another M-70 featherweight .30-06......and these things are superbly accurate bullets.....they shoot extremely well in my .300 H&H and the .30-06 also groups them in about 3/4" at 100 yards.......darn good for a featherweight barrel.

I might just break down and feed this new .270 some SAF 130s to see how they shoot

That is very nice !
Lets see, a geat classic round, .270, a great classic rifle M,70 and clearly the all time classic scope,3x9 leupold.
I got to look at an 06 featherweight and was quite impressed.
Price was 800.00, I hope it gets cheaper , as I think (not sure though) I would prefer a Kimber 84 in that price range.
I am holding out for a .308. But if If I find one with nice enough wood in any caliber I might jump. But when I find a .308,I might still end up with a kimber.
The model 70 feather weight would likly never dissapoint, the 84 is about 1.5 lBS lighter.

Thomas Jones,

The Armoury in CT has a Kimber 84M Classic in 7mm-08 with superb figure in the wood new for only $825!

You might call them when they open. I think they are open Thursday through Saturday.

Its the one in the middle of the picture above.

Get the 'power' or optic that your eye likes instead of what someone else says.

When we go to the doctor they ask us what lens we like!

Do that with your optics.

I'd be very interested to see what they are doing now for the bedding, inletting? Are they still using the goop?
