I was at a local gunstore here yesterday and i saw a unused Mkv Made by Sauer, it was unshot and scoped in 30-06, the seller wanted 6000 for it, what is such a rifle worth abroad ? Most of the guns in that store were overpriced hower.

If you mean 6,000 Euros (ie. approx. $9,000) then I think it is not a bargain. You can buy a whole lot of rifle in the USA for that amount and even in France or Belgium there are a few riflemakers that can fit a beautiful custom rifle into that budget.

Saturday Fatigue set in, i meant 6000 Dollars, if it was 2000 dollars i bought it, and if it was in .270 Wby or 300 Wby also, the rifle appears to have been on the shelf for 50 years , and it will be some more years sadly .

Someone out there correct me if I'm wrong but these old German or Japanese made Weatherby MK-V's are not particularly valuable. A quick check on GunBroker would verify the asking prices. If it were me I wouldn't pay more than $1500.00 for a perfect "Used" MK-V with a big name German or Austrian scope of MODERN manufacture.

You could buy a brand new MK-V from the Weatherby Custom Shop with every option other than cosmetic fluff for about $3500.00 or $2000 for a new Deluxe. Figure a S&B, Kahles, Zeiss, Swarovski scope with rings at about $2000.

The sauer versions are a lower production item and in demand by weatherby collectors--- all 3 of them Big Grin, I would not think it would sell for more than $2000.US

2000...US

So they have missed with 4000 dollars. That must try to be bargained on some way or another. But will i get a license for it, that is the question since there is a Weapon wardrober over here soon on 8 weapons for hunting , and i have reached that limit....

but you must remember that 2000$ in usa and norway isn't the same.

lets take an example(rem 700 cdl):
msrp in usa: 931$
costs in norway: 8990nok
8990nok = 1761,43$
