I have a takeoff 30-06 barrel, standard contour from a Sako M-85, is it possible/advisable to rechamber it to 300 Dakota?

Probably. But I believe you'd be better off with a .308 Norma Mag. instead of that .300 Dakota.........

or a .30-338 win mag or perhaps the venerable 300Ruger...
