Is there a web site for the Fennewerk rifle/shotgun system?

Used to be the Valmet 412, then the Tikka 512 and now I believe the Fennewerk 512.

ie the under and over shotgun, combination rifle shotgun and double rifle system.

Does anyone here shoot one, etc? especially the double and how easy is it to "self-regulate" the adjustable barrels on the double?

Thanks for any replies.

I have one of the Valmet 412's in 308. The regulation is achieved through a threaded block with an adjusting screw in it mounted between the barrels. Easy to adjust and it works. Mine has extremely light triggers (which I don't mind at all) and is accurate with loads it likes. I suppose you could just adjust the block for the load, but for everything I will ever use a 308 for, it shoots my favourite hunting loads very well. I'm still looking for a reasonably priced barrel set in 9.3 X 74R, but so far every one I've come across they want more than what I paid for the rifle (2 or 3 times as much, usually). So I'm still looking. For the cost, I'm thinking of having a set made and fitted. All in all it's a good rifle, and I am pleased with it. I don't know about a web site, perhaps one of the European posters can help us out there. Hope this helps. - Dan

Dan

I have been looking for a suitable one for quite a few years.

Once answered an advertisement where the seller had 2 actions, a 12g/.222, a 12g/9.3x74R and a couple of shotgun sets.

Within 24 hours of release, he had sold both actions, and all he had left was the 12g/222 barrels. Which I do want but not if I don't have an action first.

Then I came across a 12g/12g action and barrels for trap shooting, which with hindsight I should have bought and kept searching for the barrels I want.

Which are: 12g/.222, 12g/.308, 7mm or 30-06, and 9.3/9.3 double and a set of shotgun barrels. (I think the 9.3 double would be a fantastic sambar deer brush rifle. These seem rare with the 308 doubles more common)

Hopefully the Fennewerk ones become more available soon.

They seem to be something EVERYONE wants and get purchased very quickly but no one supplies.

And yes I heard the triggers were good too which is often unusual.

Does anyone know of a contact postal address/telephone/fax numbers for Fennewerk?

Thanks

Thanks Brownibg Guy, that's still 3 times what I paid for the rifle, but I guess if I want it bad enough, I'll just have to pay the price. Again, thanks for the info. - Dan

TO: NITRO EXPRESS AND DAN BELISLE. 9.3x74R BBLS. HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HARD TO GET IN THE STATES. THE 308WCF WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DEER AND PIG ROUNDS, UNTIL I STARTED USING A 9.3x74R CHAPUIS. I HAVE USED 286GR.WOODLEIGH SP,285HAWK .O35JKT, 286 NOSLER PARTITIONS, AND 270SPEER SP ON DEER, WILD PIGS AND COYOTES. I USE BARNES 286 SOLIDS ON TURKEYS. I HAVE SEEN THOSE 9.3 BBLS. PRICED EVEN HIGHER IN THE PAST. MIGHT BETTER GET THEM WHILE YOU CAN, SEEMS LIKE THEY COME AND GO. 9.3 WOULD BE A GOOD MOOSE, ELK, AND BEAR GUN IN THE FOREST. TOO.

I have two of them: a 7x65R and a 9.3x74R with an additional 12g barrel set.

The 7x65r does MOA with each barrel (cooled) and 1,5-2MOA for 4 subsequent shot at 100m!

The 9,3x74R I tried to regulate with GECO 250gr factory loads - couldn't make it firstly because the foreend was loose with the doublerifle set (bought it used and the preowner used the change barrel 12ga set without propper fit and therefore the forened went loose).

Then after it was fixed by the smith, I had it regulated to 14mm!!!! for 2 shots with O/U!

I really was happy with it - then opened a new box of rounds and this time it spread 25cm apart

Had a few of the old batch - they still grouped as before - too much difference in factory loads.....

Now I know it is accurate, but have to wait till I load my own rounds to get it regulated.

BTW I've seen a 412/512 on GunsAmerica in 9.3x74R yesterday. Have a look!

I couldn't find a homepage for Fennwork or Finnwork. Heared it it still made in the Beretta groupe, but Tikka couldn't/wouldn't tell where to find info for it.

aHUNTER.. I HAVE RECOVERED THE SPEER 270 FROM A 315LB. PIG. WOODLEIGH 286 SP FROM A PIG, AND A 155 LB WHITETAIL BUCK, THREE OR FOUR HAWK 286GR.x.032 JKT. FORM PIGS. I HAVE YET TO RECOVER A 286 NOLSER PARTITION FROM FIVE PIGS KILLED WITH THEM. ALL TOTAL I HAVE TAKEN 3 DEER AND 20 TO 25 OR SO PIGS WITH THIS 9.3x74. ALL THE OTHER HITS HAVE PASSED THROUGH. SHOTS HAVE RANGED FROM ABOUT 17 YARDS TO ABOUT 100 YARDS. MOST UNDER 40 YARDS. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF ANY OF THESE BULLETS. FOR LEOPARD, PIGS, DEER,AND THE RIGHT BBL. ON BLACK BEAR, AND SIMILAR ANIMALS I LIKE THE HAWK BULLET BECAUSE OF ITS TREMENDOUS EXPANSION, AND GOOD PENETRATION. THE 286 NOSLER PARTITION LEAVES A GOOD WOUND CHANNEL BUT SEEMS TO PENETRATE MORE THAN THE OTHERS. YOU CANT GO WRONG WITH THE WOODLEIGHS. THEY SEEM TO BE ABOUT MIDWAY BETWEEN THE HAWK AND THE NOSLER, WHICH IS NOT A BAD PLACE TO BE. ON BIG ANIMALS I LIKE THE WOODLEIGH AND THE PARTITIONS. SPEER RECOMENDS THEIR 270GR. BULLET FOR ELK AND I SEE NO FAULT WITH THAT, I JUST LIKE HEAVY BULLETS IN THE 9.3. I WOULD CARRY A FEW WOODLEIGH SOLIDS TO AFRICA JUST IN CASE I NEEDED TO SHOOT A BUFF. WITH THIS RIFLE IN A PINCH. I HOPE THIS HELPS. P.S. ONLY ONE PIG HIT WITH A HAWK HAS EVEN TAKEN A STEP, HE RAN ABOUT 16 YARDS, I SHOOT PIGS BEHIND THE SHOULDER WHENEVER I CAN AS NOT TO MESS UP THE SHOULDER ROAST...MMM MMM GOOD. SOLIDS WORK GOOD ON TURKEYS TOO.

Thanks, 450 ...

I just sighted in my 9.3x62 with Lapua 286 grs. This is a very blunt bullet ( nearly flat top, only slight radius on front ) seated out extremely far, compared with PMPs 286 grs RN.

Recoil is noticeable. I have no problems with it. Seems its time to get a long barreled .375 for - ???

Ignore the last sentences. Its an incurable disease.
