Anyone have or had one of these based on the FN Mauser actions. I've seen a couple of these in 300 Weatherby Magnum and I'm sorely tempted.

I have owned, and shot afew South Gate FN Weatherbies. They have all shot well for me. All being chambered in the .300 Wby.Mag.

It's pretty rare to find one in anything other than .300 WBY. They are FN actions and are well-made guns. All I have ever seen were pretty well used, and I owned one for a short time that had a lot of surface rust from neglect. To me, a South Gate Mauser in "as new" condition should be worth more than a German Mark-V. But that's just me.

Watch the Cabelas web site in their "Fine Gun Room" section. They show up there every once in a while and are usually at a healthy price.

Thanks all, I need something to go along with my 500 Jeffery. I gave my tried and true 270 Win to my youngest son ...
