Pieter die 4deHow popular (or unpopular) are the Win short mags in Africa these days?
quote:
I doubt the new magnums will ever be overly popular in Africa, most see no need for them, the cost is excessive, and you can feed the wife and kids with a 308 or 30-06 or granddads 9.3x62.
Those that own 300 WSM rifles like them, the other calibers in WSM is not seen at shooting ranges. The thing is the ammo is more expensive for those that do nor reload and they are the bulk of the hunters in SA. And we have so many other rifles like the 308 Win, 30-06, 3270 Win, 7mm Rem Mag that's used on game, and the late entry of WSM's is hardly an option for the average farmer, hunter or new person buying his first rifle.

So, they are sold to hunters with a little more disposable income, who are rifle nuts. Pretty much like here.
