I have three barrels for my Encore; .300 Win. Mag., .280 Remington, and .338/06. Of the three, the .338/06 is from Fox Ridge and is the most accurate, and shoots fairly well with most loads I've tried. The .280 and the .300 are both T/C factory barrels, and both shoot OK, but both are very picky. The .300 barrel is my second in this caliber. My first .300 barrel was very erratic, with vertical stringing. It also showed signs of having headspace problems. T/C replaced it with no hassle at all. Neither barrel had any extraction problems. The .280 did have an extraction problem, but bending the extractor spring resolved this nicely.

You would have to be a seriously committed reloader to deal with the 9.3x64. Factory ammo in the US will be exceptionally limited. Only 3 companys make it and you can probably only find RWS in the states. The Russians are using this a sniper cartridge now. It's the latest and greatest thing to come up in Russia. They are really into it. They even have a Druganov rifle so chambered.

If you look seriously at any of these rounds, they are very similar. I have a lot of experience with the 35s and 9.3x62 and love them both. Bullet selection is getting better every day for either. My 9.3 has been to Africa twice with GREAT results. (Impala to Eland) My 35s (Whelen and 350 Rem Mag) have been used in the US for all manner of 4 legged game with excellent results. The 9.3x64 is really a magnum type round and a step up from any of those you mention. If you reload, you can;t go wrong with any of them. Pick one you might like to try and go with it. You won't be dissapointed with any of them. Life really does begin at 35 caliber!
