Has anyone done any whitetails with these bullets? I was looking them over for use in my 358 Win 18.5" and my 26" 358 Norma. I am using mostly Hornaday 200 -250 RN. They advertise different jacket strength for low and higher velocity. The Norma is cooking around 2900 fps. With the short barrel Ruger @/49 gr IMR4064, I'm probably only doing 2350 fps at best. Looking to see if it's worth the expense. Regards, Tack

I have used Hawk bullets in the 9.3X74R [285gr. .035hjkt] and in my 450/400 3 1/4" [300gr. .025jkt], on deer and wild pigs with excellent results. call Hawk and talk to Andy and explain your needs, he will help you out. I recommend them highly, Especially for your 358WCF. You will need a thick jacket for the 358 Norma, ask him about the .050jkt. They "mushroom" to a very large diameter, most animal do not even take one step after being hit.

I read something about Hawk .358 dia bullets that bothered me. I think it was on 24hourcampfire. Someone said that he blew up a rifle with those bullets. It's hard to blame a bullet in my opinion but who knows? Use www.boardreader.com to search for Hawk bullets. Good luck.PS I found it at www.24hourcampfire.com - forums -search-hawk bullets-bullets that destroy rifles -1-18-02 I have used the 180 Speer FN in the .358 Winchester. They are accurate and very deadly. I would not bother with any other bullet for deer. It's easy to get the Speers. [ 01-10-2003, 17:40: Message edited by: Savage99 ]
