What type of bottom metal was used on the early British sold and Mauser sold 98s. Was it the (what I'll call military) type that uses a pin to release? Or, were trigger guard, or another type of release used? Thanks captdavid I Don't know where to ask this question: I'm an inquisitive retired schoolteacher interested in 19th century British military and colonialism. Please Pm if willing to answers questions. Please, it's not deep, just something that one that has an interest in that era might know.
