Does anyone have any experience with these newer bullets on big game? I am working up loads for the next safari, rifle is a .300 H&H, and I have these bullets on my test menu. They look sexy, but are they good enough to go the price over "standard" Nosler Partitions?? Only looking to hunt plains game - Kudu, Wildebeest, Springbok antelope class - so no need for the DGR folks to get upset with my lil .300, which is about all I can shoot with arthritis.
PS- I am a 6.5mm freak, but still like the extra power of a .300.

My wife and I have used 168 Nosler Ballistic Silver Tips in 308 to take several deer and wild pigs in the Factory Winchester load.
The Ballistic Silver Tip is no different than the standard Nosler Ballistic tip, except for the Lubaloy black coating.
If I was taking a 300 H&H to Africa for plains game [a GREAT choice by the way] I would use the 180 Nosler Partition.
The only thing I would worry about is.... Do I have enough money to pay for all the plains game this rifle and bullet can kill? Eeker Big Grin
You can NEVER go wrong with a 300 Mag aned Nosler partitions.
If you do not belive me, just ask Allen Day. thumb

Like NE450No2 said, they are the same as NBTs.

I picked up some of the Ballistic silver tips that hadn't been sent in for coating. A call to Nosler for reloading information verified that these weren't any different than the regular ballistic tips.
For my two cents worth, I'd go with the Partitions. With the Partition, if something goes wrong, you know its not the bullet's fault.

I have used the balistic silver tips in my 7mmrm in 150 gr factory loads. I am getting great accuracy and I have not had a deer take as much as a step. they sure save on tracking time.

Same for my .270 as the cat doctor. I had excellent kill results. Dropped them where they stood. BUT, that was just a 130 gr on white tails weighing roughly 140 to 180 lbs. I think I would want to go for a slightly more dense bullet for the thicker skinned game though.

Every white tail I have taken with these, the entry wound would usually be around 3-4 inches, and the exit wound, if there was one, would just be maybe 5 or 6 little pinholes.

I love these bullets on deer, but for a safari, get something a little heaver/more solid like the TSX, partition, or TBBC. JMO

I used them for one shot kills on warthog(pic is somewhere on here)and baboon out of my .308 in 180 grn..Both shot where @ 175 yards.I loaded them mainly for a buddies leopard hunt.One shot kill as well.They shoot really great out of my rifle.Everything you have listed fell on an earlier trip with same gun shooting partions in 180 grns.

Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
