Hi, Do any of you guys have any experience/info about this caliber. Someone told me about a Jeffery made rifle that may be coming up for sale, should be cheap. Pluto

great caliber for All African Game except ele and Buff. Legal for lion, Eland etc. Anno available from Kynock ( Kynamco -Peter Little in the UK I think)Have used their re-launched ammo and like it- alot. Bought up some .333 rimless for a friend here in Zim . Be Aware that there is also a .333 Flanged (rimmed) version for use in Double rifles. Get the order right! Basically It is a shortened .404 case with better shoulder angle necked down - Sounds like a Dakota/Winchester/Rem round except that it has been arround since 1911.

Though the ballistics closely resemble the .318 WR, I can't help but believe that there is enough room in the case to duplicate the .338 Win. Again, it just goes to prove my point. There is nothing new in cartridges under the sun . . . except for marketing and ego! Sarge Holland's .375: One Planet, One Rifle . . . for one hundred years!

Most of the books I've read listed the 250gr bullet at 2500 fps and the 300 gr at 2200 fps (if I remember correctly). The ballistics table I posted above is what Kynoch (Kynamco) is currently listing. They may have backed the velocites down a little for their new ammo. -Bob F.
