what are the sights like? Is it possibly the Battue model? They aren't commonly stocked in stores, but aren't hard to get if you ask to order one... I very much liked the Battue sights; thought of buying one that sat at my local shop for a long time (I moved away, it's probably still there!)

I had ZKK 602 in this caliber. Ask yourself following question: 'Do I really want to carry around 9.5lb rifle in .300WinMag.' I was happy to get rid of that crowbar! If you want nice .300Mag why not wait for limited ed. Ruger No. 1 in caliber .300H&H. I have handled nice .375 Ruger No. 1 'Lion Slayer' or whatever it's called. Nice handling "7.5 lb pounder".

"Safari Magnum" isn't a model. As noted, it could be an UHR or a Battue, or one of the more plain-jane .300WM's out there. Don't think it's a Safari Classic Series just because "Safari Magnum" is stamped on the receiver. Heck, my .416 Rigby has "Safari Classic" (not Magnum) stamped on the receiver, yet it is not a true SC - doesn't have all the upgrades even though it does have a very nice wood stock.
