280 remington moa rifles
Are there any custom gun makers who can make a 280 remington moa bolt action rifle. I know that Weatherby does a moa vanguard, but does not offer the 280.

Find a used Rem 700 BDL in 280 Rem, have it pillar bedded, barrel free-floated and have the trigger adjusted a bit. I've had 3 BDLs, one in 243 and 2 in 270 (right and left-handed for my sons). All easily shoot under 1 MOA. If you want to go a little more spendy, have a Shilen, Hart or Krieger match barrel trued to the action and put on any used BDL you find in good shape.

pretty much any gunsmith should be able to do that. handloading alone can sometimes get off the shelf rifles shooting sub moa as well.

Brownings are well known as being very accurate out of the box, and the new Xbolt is available in 280 Rem.

I am having a 280 built on a 1903A3, and if its not sub moa with handloads im not gonna be a happy camper lol

The 280 is no diff. than any other cartridge. Good action, proper bedding & a good barrel installed by a good gunsmith, done. My custom M70 280 shoots easily MOA, & it has a ft.wt. bbl. The worst group it's ever shot was 2" & that was w/ Hrdy. 154grIB. They won't shoot in my 7mag either. Even cheap factory ammo is almost 1MOA.

I'm not sure what you are asking
I have a stock plain jane 280 rem m70 that will shoot under 1 moa
If you don't handload you may want to consider it

It depends on WHO is shooting the rifle, as to weather it will shoot MOA or not, Paul c.

any decent smith can make an MOA rifle, and the 280 shoots pretty well..
rebarrel a m700, blue print the action, and have a good near to zero headspace on it..

You can actually get the Sub-MOA option on all Weatherby rifles, not just the Vanguards, and not just the models listed as Sub-MOA. You need to go through the Custom Shop to get it, but you can in fact buy a Weatherby Mark V Ultra Lightweight Sub-MOA in .280 Remington from the Weatherby Custom Shop. I guarantee it won't be cheap but it'll shoot.

Honestly you'd probably be better off buying a used M700, getting a decent barrel put on it, and having some trigger work done and bedded in a decent stock for best bang-for-your-buck.

My 700 Classic, after the obligatory trigger job, shoots MOA with home rolled fodder. I didn't spend a whole lot of time working up the load neither. I use 150gr Rem Core Lokt bullets too, believe it or not. Smiler

Echo what another said, buy you a X-bolt and shoot Win or Fed premium ammo and you'll probably be there as cheaply as possible.

Mine goes under an inch stock m 700, on a good day into 1/2" with reloads, she likes a little more pressure so gets loaded to 270 win pressures.

My BDL does it too. It loves Hornadys and Imr 4350.
