I've got a friend who's a 9.3 fan who's putting together a cartridge board of cartridges in that caliber and is missing 9.3x66 and 9.3x70. Can anyone help with samples? They don't have to be loaded cartridges; a "dummy" without powder and primer is fine. He's willing to pay your costs in return for your kindness.

Does your friend have the 9,3x57R/360 Nitro express?

Best regards Chris.

Chris:

Don't know. I'll ask. My impression is that he's focused on bolt action cartridges, but I could be wrong. Thanks for the suggestion!

Chris:

I found out that he already has the .360 NE in his collection. Now if only we could scrounge up a 9.3x66 and 9.3x70... Confused

I have an order of brass in both calibers coming in from Germany next week. Send me a PM next Friday and we'll get it done.

Great! You've already been in touch with "9.3 Norm", I believe, haven't you? He's the one who's putting this cartridge board together. If you already have his e-mail address, feel free to connect with him directly on this. Much appreciated!

Hi Eric,

Norm and I sent some e-mails back and forth last year. Lois and I haven't unpacked our computer from the move (or hooked up the satellite dish), and I don't have his address on my work computer.....

Any way, if you could send him my e-mail address from my profile, I would appreciate it.

I just did a wire transfer for the funds to the Bank of Hamburg Smiler. Brass should be on the boat next week.

Hi Jens,

Jim Kobe is rebarreling a 30-06 Sako to 9,3 x 66 Sako. It will be a switch barrel rifle.

I would like to make the 9,3 x 70 on a M98, but the cartridge length is 89mm (3.5040"), and fat as well. Having a proper magazine box made and having the action milled/action rails altered, etc. would likely be very expensive here in the US. I have a Winchester Model 70 with a long magazine box designed for the Remington Ultra Mag. (Like the 9,3 x 70, it is based on the 404J case). That would be a much cheaper conversion.

I just traded for an FN rifle with a 3.4" long magazine box. If I can get someone to make an appropriate magazine box, that would be a good action to use.

I have also asked Recknagel for a catalogue. I was told that they sell various sized magazine boxes. I will also look at the Blackburn boxes to see if one of those would work.

Thank you for asking.

John
