Took my 300 H&H out this morning to try a new load. I was shooting 180 grain Hornady interbond over RL 22. 71.5 grains Shot pretty darn well, Usually 2 rounds touching and the 3rd opening things up to around 1.5. 72.5 Was not quite as good. This was my 1st shoot with these components in this rifle. It was a little more accurate than my last shoot using 180 grain partitions over IMR 4350, But the recoil jumped considerably with this new combination. The Hornady Book shows about 2900 with the RL 22 load. Noslers Book tops at 71grs of RL 22 over a 180. And gives over 3000 for the load. I think I will Try the Hornady bullet over the IMR 4350. But I will load a couple of these new loads up and see what the chrony tells me. I would be ready to hunt elk with the RL 22 load, and I am sighted in for it now, But the 4350 gave me 2900 and was comfortable to shoot. So unless the RL 22 gives a big boost I will go with the 4350. I am to old to beat myself up just for the hell of it...

I shot the 300 H&H for many years, only sold it last year on AR..It is the best of the 300s if you hand load it..and walks right beside a 300 Wby if you wish.. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com
