Does anybody have any experience with these? I will be pushing them around 3200 fps out of 300 WM. Main usage will be whitetails. I'm either going to stay with these or Barnes TTSX. I'm wanting minimal meat damage thats why I'm going with bonded or either full copper. I have used the 140 TTSX in 7RM and had excellent results with them. I always wanted to try the scirroco's so now is my chance. Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated.

Usually 3200ft/sec and minimal meat damage do not go hand in hand. What type of distances are you talking about? For minimal meat damage, I try to keep impact velocity under 2800ft/sec. If you are adamant about pushing a bullet that fast, I would stick to Barnes TTSX.

Most shots will be 250yds and under, reason for going with this is I'm trying to make one shot kills and not have to do any tracking. Most places I'm hunting are very thick and in hills. Trying to eliminate all that and achieve drt results with good shot placement, without having to try head shots.

I use the 150 grain SS II's in my 300 RUM. Very accurate, very fast. The shock at impact is amazing. You won't have to track it far if your aim is true....but you will blacken up some meat with a small grain going that fast.

Our experience exactly the same as B-C above.

We use the 150 gr. Swift Scirocco II's in both 300 WM & 300 RUM with good success; and they are truly screamers in this weight & both cartridges. They performed especially well on pretty tough Plains Game in Namibia.

Penetratation is outstanding (read=superior) for a 150 grain bullet but then again that's why we're paying premium for the bonded attribute.

I have to admit it did take a while to determine the correct load & O.A.L.; they seemed to us to be finicky in this regard; but once we arrived at the right node accuracy is superb.

Swift scirocco update, I threw together a quick load and was able to get 3/4 inch groups. Made first kill saturday Afternoon on a 160-170 lbs 8 point. Complete pass through on 150 yds shot with DRT results. Lost one shoulder due to impact but can't be choicy on results. I will say I am pleased with the scirocco's and will keep shooting them throughout this season.

Minimal meat damage and DRT results just don't jibe as a rule. I like to eat my deer and elk, and I use the same bullet on both.

For whitetail from a stand I use my 30-06 with 180 corelokts or Noslers, 7x57 with 175 gr. Corelokts or Noslers, 9.3x62 with 286 gr. Noslers is a favorite.
and I have used my .375 H&H with 300 gr. bullets btw. all of these normally just make a nice caliber size entrance hole, one inch exit and about 4 or 5 inches of blood shot meat. keep shots behind the shoulder if possible. Expect the animal to run 50 to even a 100 yards, but you will have a big blood trail. This works for me.
Many times I have my 30-30 or my 25-35 in the stand with me, if its a 100 yard shot I use it for the same reason, saving meat.

Giving an update on my second deer with the 150 Scirroco. 130lb Doe at 120yds frontal shot facing me. DRT not a step taken. Alot of damage on one front shoulder, wasn't able to keep this one. But I will say I like the loads but they do not perform like a bonded bullet they act more like a ballistic tip. I did not recover the bullet but did not have an exit wound I assume it was somewhere in the cavity. I think I am going to purchase 150gr ttsx to compare this with.

I had a load of 70 grs IMR7828 with 180 gr TSX bullets that was running only 2825 fps with very minimal meat damage.

When I go to Africa or want higher velocity and don't care about meat, I bump the same bullet up to 3100 fps with 72 grs of IMR4350.

It has been my experience that the TSX version is a bit easier on meat than the TTSX. Having said that, in all my calibers below .308 I use the TTSX to ensure I get reliable expansion with the smaller bullets. From .308 and higher caliber I stay with the TSX because the hollow point is larger and I expect expansion on every shot.

Good luck!
