Local store still has two, NIB, Win SS classics in .270. These are the rifles with the black syn stock. I can buy them for $700 each. Would it be a worth while investment to buy these and stick em in the safe? They have no use to me as I am left handed.

I think its a reasonable price if you are going to shoot it. I dont think its a great price, but fair. Investment? maybe long term. I think the over hyped prices are starting to come down now. If someone begins making a model 70 action (lots of speculation) then you will just have a nice gun.

Again, its not a bad deal for a gun that you will use.

IMHO

That's probably an average price. Buy the rifle if it's what you want, but don't buy it for an investment. A stainless 270 isn't rare and isn't going to appreciate, it's just a decent rifle, nothing special. Stick the money in a CD if you want an investment.

I tend to agree. I watched them sit on the shelf since WW announced their closing but the thought was always there to buy them and stick them in the safe for a couple of years.
I'll leave them for someone who can appreciate them.
