Local store still has two, NIB, Win SS classics in .270. These are the rifles with the black syn stock. I can buy them for $700 each. Would it be a worth while investment to buy these and stick em in the safe? They have no use to me as I am left handed. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

I think its a reasonable price if you are going to shoot it. I dont think its a great price, but fair. Investment? maybe long term. I think the over hyped prices are starting to come down now. If someone begins making a model 70 action (lots of speculation) then you will just have a nice gun. Again, its not a bad deal for a gun that you will use. IMHO Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum

That's probably an average price. Buy the rifle if it's what you want, but don't buy it for an investment. A stainless 270 isn't rare and isn't going to appreciate, it's just a decent rifle, nothing special. Stick the money in a CD if you want an investment.

I tend to agree. I watched them sit on the shelf since WW announced their closing but the thought was always there to buy them and stick them in the safe for a couple of years. I'll leave them for someone who can appreciate them. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
