Just placed my order with montanarifleman.com for a .366 SS barrel 1/14" in #5 Going to be chambered for 9.3x62 on a W70 Classic SS. I'm not sure on the stock, as I think I'm putting the plastic factory stock on my PF M70 300Wby and painting it. I might put the 9.3 in the 300's XTR wood stock, its got decent grain...and its free lol. Guess that means I'm still on the search for something to do with my 1903 action! If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

I'll bet it'll look real sharp in the XTR stock and in a real practical caliber too! A thought for the 1903 would be in 338-06. Paul.

I thought about a 338-06 but there isn't anything it can do that the 9.3 won't, and I hate doubling up purposes on my rifles. If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

I think an 03 should be chamberd in a classic chambering. I have a beautifull one in .257 Roberts. the 9.3X62 is a fine round , I have an FN side safty action that may get the same treatment...tj3006 freedom1st

I agree with a classic chambering, like 257 Bob or 7x57.

TJ, Go over to the big bore forums and see Jeffeoso's post about cheap barrels. Give montana rifleman a call, thats where I got my 9.3 barrel for 70$ twisted, turned and finished length, just no crown. If you guys see my other "which would you choose" thread, a LOT of people are in favor of the 7x57! I just have to see if MR has anymore of those dirt cheap short 7mm barrels left. I'm thinking of doing the 7x57 up with a short but heavy barrel in a mannlicher stock. Reason for the heavy barrel is I'm thinking about having the top half octagon, plus it should be a nice accurate shooter with a stiff barrel. If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!
