| Gabe, I have two rods, a Dewey in .17 and a Parker Hale .22(bought in the 60's) caliber for all the rest. The bearings started to bind up on my Dewey rod, i called them to order a new handle, they said we'll send you one, no charge. That's what I call customer service. If and when I need another rod, it will be a coated Dewey. Stepchild |

| papaschmud,
I have a half a dozen Dewey's bought a number of years ago. My best shooting partner has all Parker-Hales. They are both servicable rods, perform ok, and protect the bore while cleaning. If I need new rods I'll buy Bore-Tech. The handle is so much better. There is enough to hold on to and the bearings seem smoother.

| I own and have used Dewes cleaning rods for over six years of quite alot of yearly use on rifles, muzzleloaders, and slug guns. I am compleatly happy with them and thay have held up great and all are still in fine shape. Having said that, if I had to do it over, I would buy the Bore Tech rod because the handle is more comfortable than the one on my Dewes.
The only reason I dont buy the Bore Tech rods, is the fact the Dewes have held up so well I can not justify the expence of buying Bore Techs rods to repalce perfectly good Dewes rods.
If you buy eithor Dewes or Bore Tech cleaning rods, you will be more than happy which ever you chose. If price is a factor, the Dewes tend to be on average about $10.00 cheaper each than the Bore Techs. |
